    Hi all,

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question!
I have a saorview box which up until four days ago had been getting all rte & English free to air channels (e.g. bbc etc.)
However now it is only picking up the Irish ones. I have rescanned the channels several times ensuring that it is scanning "all" satellites including Astra / Eurobird.
When I try and change the channel to something other than rte, the error message reads "DVB-S no signal".
Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it?

    Thanks!

It means the receiver isn't getting a satellite (DVB-S) signal for whatever reason. Difficult to say what the problem is, could be a dish fault, cable fault, receiver fault etc.

The simple checks would be to ensure the cable connection to the receiver is secure. To check the receiver and rule out a fault can you could test it out on a friend's dish? If all OK there then it's on to the dish, alignment or LNB fault or cable connection to the LNB. If you can't do this part yourself you will have to call in an installer to check it out.
