I found that route alright as well but seems to be going the wrong way to me as its all right turns. Perhaps it goes round the other direction?

Here is the poster sent out by the club...

All left turns on this course!
Same route as 2013 including Ash Hill and the Dunboyne bypass from the Maynooth Road to the Summerhill Road each lap. Finish on the bypass.

Does this 100% finish on the bypass and not the top the drag like last year?

Same Finish as last year. Halfway along the bypass and not a hill in sight. Ash Hill is the only slope on this circuit and this is situated approximately 3k before the finish.

There's a flyer for this race here...

    http://womenscycling.ie/60km-womens-race-dunboyne-july-20/

It appears to state that the women's race and junior races go off at 9.30 and the A1/2, 3 and 4s go at noon. Can anyone confirm if this is or is not the case?

I think this is the route

    http://www.mapmyride.com/ie/dunboyne-l/seamus-kennedy-route-248096473

Womens race says 12:00 start on the poster

Underage racing was scheduled for 9.30am but seems to have been discarded. That poster/flyer has been updated and all racing is due to start at noon.
Ladies will race with the A3/junior bunch.

    Is this sign-on? https://goo.gl/maps/z0FNz

There's another sports club near Dunboyne that IRC use, want to be sure sign-on isn't there.

IRC use Dunboyne AFC or soccer club on the Summerhill Road. Your map shows the correct location. It is a shared carpark between the Athletic and GAA clubs and I think the sign on is in the GAA club although it was the Athletics club last year. The entrances to both are side by side.

Race over after 40km thanks to a dog running into the bunch, managed to stay upright though.

Some very dodgy riding in A3 today, got round in one piece, well positioned for the sprint, didn't quite have enough in the legs, finished in the top 20 somewhere, probably put too much into trying to get into a break, live and learn, great day for a race. Well done to the organising club, very well run, cake and stuff at the finish, all good :)

It was a bit nervous ok with a huge bunch what did you expect .but it was a safe race no fallers in your race ifaik and a good clean sprint to finish. Fun all the way ;)

'Twas a bit hairy alright. I moved to the back of the bunch in the last km, felt the huge bunch gallop would be a bit risky.

Better to have made attempts to get away and failed than to have sprinted for 7th in the gallop, to my mind anyway.

Thought I saw you there at sign-on, sorry I wasn't talking to you.

Was this the race where a dog ran in and took down a few riders? Might have been in A2/A1 I think.

No worries, I didn't see you. I did pass you in my car as you were cycling to the fixture though.

Yeah, it was the A1/2 race, the dog ran under a swords riders front wheel. I was on his wheel at the time, but managed to stay upright somehow.

Bit faster, bit harder up the climbs, more surges in pace, from my experience if you are good enough to get upgraded you are good enough to be there or thereabouts in A3, not been too far off the points in my 2 outings so far. A3 was 41.3kph for 80km on Sunday, A4 38.9kph for 60km.

    What about dodgy riding?

    What about dodgy riding?

Same as A4 people flying up the outside the wrong side of solid white lines then trying to squeeze in when cars come, people changing line without glancing over their shoulder, looking for gaps that really aren't there, haven't really noticed any improvement in that regard.

It was a bit hairy alright; couple of guys chilling out on the wrong side of the road.

Just avoided a crash myself. 2km in; two guys right in front of me went down. Guy on the right in black started to buck around left right left as if a skewer had busted; he fell left onto a rider in red and they both went down; I was lucky enough to slip between the two of them onto the grass verge as they went down. Then about 1s later that horrible noise if a crash, I made sure not to look around (basic rule). Heard 11 went down in total; my pal got it worst. Cuts on both sides if face, chin, arms, legs and a broken lever and rear derailleur. He said the only scary bit was when a rider behind him literally landed on my pals head; the helmet is getting replaced. Pal blamed the guy in front for braking full on without trying to avoid the crash or even call crash but its always hard to do that in the midst of a crash. There was another single rider crash later on.

Bar all that I loved the race; happy with a sprint finish!
