500-600 pc build

Laptop just died so doing some research online I want to build my own pc rather than buy another laptop, which I don't have much luck with. Preferably I would like to start off with a cheapish system that would be upgradable in the future.

1. What is your budget? 500-600 preferably under 600 but if needed I'll go a little above

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer"? Gaming, minecraft, football manager, battlefield, internet use, photography use, photoshop and Lightroom.

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes but I read can be got cheap off reddit, so with more looking into that , that could be the way to go

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Have my hard drive and ram out of my laptop, not sure if these would be compatible or even work still, have the DVD drive out of my laptop too, think the ram is integral 4 gb ddr3-1066, DVD drive is hitachi-lg gt30n, hard drive is toshiba hdd2j14 250gb, not even sure if I got the descriptions right.

5. Do you need a monitor? No

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.]

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1920x1080, I'll be buying my hd monitor separate, I'll be using my hd TV for the moment

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Will need the wireless card as I won't be near the router, it's downstairs I'll set up upstairs, I'll get speakers, mouse and keyboard separate

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Laser or PayPal

9. When are you purchasing? Within ten days if I can get my head around it all by then

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin, I'm going to try build it myself, watched some YouTube videos, with a bit of planning I should be ok

I'm pretty dumb to most techie talk so excuse me if I ask dumb questions

Theres no compatibility issues there. Only thing youll need is an extra sata cable. The motherboard usually only comes with 2. I can try spec a quick build aswell if you want?

Missing an optical drive and wireless card from that but what you picked will work fine. I dropped from an i5 to a fx6300 to allow a r9 280 into the budget. It will be a lot better in games and wont lose much processing power. Its just an alternative build for your budget which is pretty solid. I just like a little more graphical grunt in games than a 750 could give me

Cheers for that, Is there much difference between the i5 and the amd CPU, I see the psu you recommended is 630w is that what I'll need I picked mine not knowing really what would work,

The i5 is about 10-15% faster but if overclocked the fx6300 can be just as good if not a little better. Generally dont notice the processor as much in games anyway and I use photoshop and even do some small 3d rendering on my fx6300 and it has no problems. I picked cheaper CPu because the gpu will be a big step up and thats what youll notice in games

I actually didnt see the 500w on hwvs, it will be enough for either build and a little quieter than the 630w thermaltake. I just wouldnt overclock with the 500w

Ideally id pick your entire build and add the 280 instead of the 750ti but was trying to keep it all under budget

Ok, just a few things to point out first...
The processor and graphics card are currently out of stock and saying theyll be back in stock on the 22nd. Will just take a few extra days to get here, no big deal.

Use geizhals.de for discounts. Very straightforward. Theres a thread on here about it. Will save you a few quid on your build. maybe 30-40 quid.
Do you really want that copy of windows? Reddit software swap is really cheap, or ask a friend if they have a copy going spare. Easily looking to save about 100 quid overall.

Yes, they did with me and it took 24 hours for hardwareversand to receive the standard Bank transfer.
