What's the story with the power cuts in Lusk recently?
It went off on Sunday morning at the crack of dawn and tonight I noticed the timer on my boiler was 3-4 hours behind.

Is there a lot of building going on? Back in the 'boom' we had regular power cuts here in Swords.

Just gone and back in Balbriggan again. It's not as if many houses have air conditioning thus increasing demand on the supply. I wonder what's causing it.

Roughly halfway between Blake's Cross & Balrothery just off the R132. You can see it easily on Google Maps.

Hi, there were two power cuts in one week - was it Vandals both times?

Yes on Thursday night and Saturday night bot power outages caused by vandalism on 38kV line.

They cut down the overhead copper conductors

People need to invest in new batteries for their house alarms

38kV can do a LOT of damage!

We really need to crack down on this copper theft nonsense. Who is buying it off them?
It's beyond a joke at this stage.

Did they climb to the top of the pole and cut the wires?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 173 ✭✭Sparky84

Not sure. I presume they must climb some way up

So that's what caused it. Strange power cut that. Also it managed to cause a surge that killed my computer. Wasn't best pleased at that at all

The 5 roads is where the white elephant flyover is over the old Dublin Belfast road is!
