Do most running shoes contain leather?

Quick basic question. Do most running shoes contain leather?

I tried to purchase a decent pair of runners the other day and could not figure out if they contained leather or not.

I realise that most work 'city shoes' contain leather. Is that the same for running trainer shoes?

    Thanks.

I work off the premise that if it looks like leather, then it is, unless otherwise stated. I went through the list of online shops here that post out

and there was loads of variety, esp these:

Depends on the manufacturer - both Brooks and New Balance don't contain leather AFAIK

Wouldn't it say on the label inside what they're made of? Usually buying stuff like that online so it's easy to just google it if the materials are not listed.

My Saucony ones are not leather also my new balance netball runners are not. Google the symbols you find on the bottom/box/tongue of shoes to see what materials they are made of.

I have a pair of vivo neo trail shoes, they're 100% vegan and they're super comfy and lightweight, depends what kind you're looking for I suppose. I got them on sports direct, they were only £22.50! I'm not sure if all vivobarefoot shoes are vegan, they're dear enough but you can find them online for cheap if you look, sports direct don't seem to carry them anymore though.

New balance are a good choice, almost always vegan afaik, and ethically produced in other ways too.

Most Hi-Tec and Asics aren't leather. If you look at the label in a pair of Asics it will probably tell you they're made from 'synthetic leather'. Some of the really expensive ones might contain leather but the label will tell you. Some cheaper Puma runners aren't leather either.
