I was just wondering how I would go about installing this on a Windows machine?

I have the Oracle SQL developer environment downloaded, but from doing a bit of reading it looks like I need to have a domain to use this.

Is there any free standalone web servers I could download for my machine? It's just for college work and I'd like to get it installed so I could work on things here without relying on the labs in college.

I tried using mySQL through XAMPP but that doesn't seem to work properly for me, well probably the fact that I don't really know my way around it!

    Look for Oracle XE.

You then connect SQL Developer to it.
