I saw a documentary about it before and they practically have direwolves and woolly mammoths rolling around, and winter is not comming, it's already there.

It's crazy how much their climates can fluctuate between extremes. Sure Russia had a massive heat wave and drought two years ago, even though they're so northernly. I generally forget that's not all a tundra up there.

You are aware of the 23 degree tilt of axis?

It's a massive place in fairness. Isn't it the size of France, Germany and Poland combined?

    Duh.

But for somewhere largely in the arctic circle it's pretty amazing how it can go from one temperature extreme to another, where other northerly areas like Canada in places at the same altitude can stay more temperate.

Much of continental Canada sees regular swings of 80 degress celcius from summer to winter.

What seemed strange to me, although I know it makes sense, was when it got dark in Rio while it was still daylight in Dublin.
