    I have a x5 bmw and i want to sell it into northern Ireland and want to have it tested in north so might get better price and i want to claim back vrt is there any way i can register a car in the north and get it tested without living there

    I think you asked the same question already but here we go again:


    1.Bring the car for Vrt inspection. ( you now have 30 days to export and re-register)

    2.You need a valid UK/NI address. Southern Ireland address is no good.
    3.Car needs an MOT first in order to register with DVLA.
    4.Register the vehicle with DVLA in order to obtain a VLC5

    5.Bring the VLC5 copy/proof back to Ireland, give it to the Revenue and wait for your refund.
