Im having some trouble loading mac on vmware and virtualbox. I have the iso file but do i need a configuration file or an existing virtual disk to run it?

What is the host OS ? VMWare will only allow Mac OS to run in a VM on genuine Apple Hardware, though there are several workarounds which can't be mentioned here..

I haven't had any success on VirtualBox getting OS X to run but then I didn't really see the point so didn't try particularly hard.
There are plenty of guides if you Google it.

Also be sure you have an Intel version of Mac OS.

Hi Ken, Thanks for the reply. The host OS is windows 8. I previously had Mac OS X working perfect on vmware, but all of a sudden it stopped working! I have tried installing it again but to no avail. I even tried redownloading the iso file.
