    Hi all,

Just after breaking down my G&G TR418 for the first time and It looks like the long bolt that keeps the stock on also threads into the gearbox and into the spring guide.I have opened other make AEG's before and the spring guide is usually loose and aligned by the bayonet type pins.

I am changing the way my stock is held on for battery fitment reasons ( its a UBR so f all space ) and will be removing this long bolt.
My question is should I thread a small bolt into the gearbox and into the spring guide to keep it similar to the original set up or is this bolt been there an advantage / disadvantage or even necessary.

My G&P M4 has a long bolt going into the spring guide. It seems to me just an easy way to keep the stock tube on. It might stop the spring guide rotating but thats about it.

    Thanks fizzy

Think I'll re-install a small bolt in its place , better off trying to leave thing as they originally where.

You most definitely need the bolt. It stops the spring guide moving. Without it you can see your spring guide moving up and down. Nearly all aegs have a bolt through the stock tube into the spring guide. Vfc use a seperate little bolt into the spring guide.
Plenty of room in an UBR stock for a 7.4v 2000mah battery.

Thanks Rooky, I'll defiantly be putting one back in so. I just know there wasn't one in my CA SACR so it had me confused.
I'm currently running a 7.4v 2000mah battery just barely my reason for the new modifications is I want to fit a mosfet with fuse.
I'v dremiled a out section of the bottom of the lwr receiver stump that your stock slides over and am going to put the mosfet in there so the bolt has to come out. Will be holding the stock on with grub screw I drilled / treaded into the stump.
Should be no prop putting a smaller bolt into the stump and on to the gearbox/ spring guide.

Fet was a little bigger than I was expecting so had to dremel out a notch aswell , still all fit in the stub,
