My son recently bought a Canon 6d and is looking to sell his old kit but there seems to be little interest.
Do you think the price is too high or is it just a general thing with slow selling?

He was initially looking for 450 but is open to offers.
Not advertising it here but looking for advice.
I thought it seemed good value and a great starter kit.
450d. Fantastic camera with only 9500 shutter actuations.

Unmarked camera well taken care of.

    Comes with 18-55mm kit lens.

Included in the sale is my tamron 18-200mm lens which is brand new, purchased only a month ago.

Charger, battery, lens hood for 18-55mm, UV filter on 18-55mm, camera bag are all included in the sale.

    Hey Vectra.

You can buy that gear on Amazon for pretty cheap. People often value their goods substantionally higher than what they are actually worth.

The gear listed in your OP, minus the bag as I don't know what it is, comes to €492 excluding postage. A camera bag may only cost about 20 euro.

For the sake of 50 euro I would definitely buy a new product over second hand.

It's only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. If he gets 350 he would be doing well I would think. That's just my opinion though. I think people price their second hand goods according to what they paid for it and not how much it's actually worth. Adverts.ie is really overpriced, there are products on there that are more expensive than purchasing brand new. "But I paid €1000 euro for this 2 years ago, surely it's worth €800" when you can get the same product in the shop for €750 new... :)

    Thanks.
I don't think he realised they were that cheap.
I think he will go with your suggestion of €350 and see how that goes.

OP, if it's any use I spotted second hand versions of the 450D in town from a bricks and mortar camera shop of €200, body only.

    Edit - I upgraded from a 400D to a 6D and I was getting only €100 to €150 for the 400D so I kept it as a backup/second body

They way I do is I look for how much others have put there camera for sale on adverts or similar website and then put my camera for sale at a similar price as others. It price really depends on the market, on what the people are willing to pay for it at the current time. Usually with cameras, as new models keep getting released every year, the prices of used cameras drop pretty quickly, especially for the lower end. Like a 5Dmk3 would still be worth a lot of money used even though it's been around for many years now because Cannon hasn't released a replacement for it yet. While a 450D wouldn't be worth much because Canon has released like at least 3 newer generation models to replace it.

Quick look at adverts, the 450D with the kit lens is selling for around €250-300 mark so that's what I'ld put it up for a faster sale. If you put it up for higher like say €400 then you'll be waiting a long time to sell it and will eventually have to lower the price to sell it anyway... The tamron lens seems to be going for around €100-150 so all together I'ld put it up for €350-400 for the lot and would expect to let it go for around €50 less than asking.

prices on amazon.co.uk would put it at worth about 200quid body only IMHO. (body and lense £175 and body only £169 http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=450d ) Id sell the lens separate. The filters , bag etc are practically expected and shouldn't really be considered when pricing the sale.
