There was something kind of nasty about the lead singer, he'd ride your missus and then take off before you could confront him

The actual words "I just died in your arms tonight" originally came to Van Eede (the lead singer of Cutting Crew) while he was having sex with his girlfriend, the French phrase "la petite mort", or "the little death", being a metaphor for orgasm. After writing down his version of the phrase, he later used it as the opening line to the song as well as using it as the chorus.

    The more you know...

Saw them in The Bridge Hotel, Waterford, 1988. I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight was the last song they played.

One of the greats. I heard it on Nova this morning. It always reminds me of GTA Vice City. It's funny how players may not have heard a certain song before, but view a song on Youtube that featured in a game, and comments will usually be something along the lines of "GTA (insert series here) brought me here."
