Looking for a cheap tan that will last 7 days, any recommendations? Also need to be able to apply sun tan lotion with it too obviously and dealing with a case of back and chest acne so if it had some coverage all the better! Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

So I'm going away on holiday in a couple of days and very disorganised with it all. I need help choosing a fake tan for my skin. Basically I need one that is low budget, will last the 7 days of my holiday and won't streak when I apply sun tan lotion. Also I have unfortunately got chest and back acne at the moment so preferably something with a bit of coverage and won't irritate the skin too much. As a side note, if anyone has tips on how to get rid of the spots fast it would be much appreciated! I would love to know how others managed it on their holidays.. I'm also thinking sun tan lotion and instant tan but don't know if that would work.. Thanks in advance for any help!

To be honest I would let the sun get at your skin but apply sun tan lotion. I wouldnt put false tan over the acne as it might make it worse in the sun or aggravate it.

I use acnecide in the short term on my chest and back before going on holiday, it's the 5% benzoyl peroxide one BUT it has bleaching affects and it might dry you out quite a bit and makes you very sensitive to the sun so be careful if you do use it. Costs 13 euro or so and works a charm!

Damn you replied before I'd edited my first rambling post lol oh well. Ya that's not really an option given I have verrry pale skin and also horrible veins from having asthma and steroid meds so I wouldn't be comfortable without it and would prefer not to have to cover up either.

Vichy do a "tanning milk" that can be used on sensitive skin. It's more like a gradual tanning moisturiser. It can also be used on your face! I can't see it (or any tan) lasting for 7 days. But you can easily apply it again once or twice after a shower during your holiday! I really like it anyway.

It's not that cheap..but you can find deals on it! I wouldn't get a cheap tan if your skin is prone to be irritated...

Thanks for your reply LiaLia but that wouldn't really work as it needs to be a cheap one its for short term purpose of the holiday really. I've read a few reviews online that tans can last 7 days but it does seem to be the gradual ones that last longer. I'm now thinking maybe an instant tan with an spf? My skin isn't too bad just typical sensitive pale skin so a cheapish one should be fine for a week! I have an instant tan at home but I can't see it working having to apply sunscreen a few times a day that's the main problem!

Just in case, chlorine eats away at fake tan. So if you'll be swimming on your holidays I'd echo the recommendations here to avoid it.

Jane Isdele Powder me spf 30
Im fair and used this for a wedding holiday abroad got colour and sun protection bonus and its dry powder and you pat on use body bronzer brush to blend in its instant colour so no wetness waiting to dry streaks etc. Feel more natural.
It will last a long time or just the right amount for 7 days all day use but it will wash off in contact with water.
Comes in two colours porcelain and tanned.
ask for sample to test colour on your skin and coverage.

Im not sure if you have gone on your holiday yet or not. I'm the same as you though. Basically im very pale and my friends who I go away with always tan. Stupidly in previous years I have led myself to believe I could tan. This always led to me getting sunburnt and twice led to me getting sun stroke. More than that it leaves your skin badly damaged irritated and dehydrated.

Now I have accepted im pale and this year I will give up on trying to get a real tan and FAKE IT! Above all else skin cancer is on the rise and iv decided to stop being oblivious to the fact! So after much research iv decided im going to get the Vita Liberata spray tan before the holiday and I have bought a bottle while it was on special in Boots to top it up during the holiday. Im hoping its as good as the reviews. Since fake tan always wears from the face first before the body I also managed to get my hands on the Garnier Ambre Solaire F50 BB cream so it is like a tinted moisturiser for during the day! And I managed to get it half price in Dunnes Stores It was walking of the shelf!! So happy days! Anyway if your interested I can let you know how I got on with it. I'm always on the lookout for some holiday tips!

Hey thank you so much for your response that's exactly the tan I ended up getting. There was a special on in a local salon full body for 10e I kid you not! Unfortunately I stupidly got waxing and shaved my legs before going in so my legs were a bit of a mess but it was so hot and we were so busy over there it didn't matter. I just wore really light clothes that covered me up, which was fine and saves on sun lotion too! Also she did my hands a little too dark but next time I think I would go for the same again and just mention that! Didn't get burnt once over there although if I didn't get the tan I think I would have been tempted tbh. My skin is really a nightmare I can't show it at all its practically see through so for myself it is so much better to have a fake tan going on hols. You want to feel comfortable! Hope you get on well with your plan!

Im glad it worked for you. Yes sometimes its the person applying the tan that can mess it up and not the actual tan, which is what it sounds like happened with your hands but then it is easy to happen. Some people take to tan really easy like yourself probably, then you have me who needs a couple of layers! just wondering where you ended up getting it done? It varies in price iv seen from €25 - €40 for a spray tan of Vita Liberata so €10 is really good! Im booked in to have mine done in Beauty Ninety Six in Blanchardstown!
