Creaking coming from the crank

I have an FSA Omega compact crankset on my Ridley. I was out for a spin yesterday and kept hearing a loud creak from the crank.

I had a look at it today and I can't be sure but it looks like there is a cap or bolt missing. Am I right and what do I need to do to sort it out?

    Cheers

    Four possibilities:

    1. Loose BB.
    2. Loose crank arm.
    3. Loose pedals.
    4. Loose cleats.

LBS should identify it straight away.

Am I right in thinking that there's a gap between the crank and the side of the BB cup in the second picture there? If so, then are you able to push the cranks left and right through the BB? If yes to both then you are both missing the pre-load cap, and the non-drive crank has started to slip off the spindle from the drive side one, and if you are unsure what any of that means, I would suggest heading to your LBS as Lusk Doyle said.

I had recent ticking noise recently, replaced the bottom bracket with no success. I screwed off a cap on the pedals, and pushed in grease and re-screwed the cap back on and saw the grease come out the crank side of the pedal, noise was gone.

I had a look there, there is 1mm gap but no movement through the BB. I may just bring it to the LBS as it could do with a service and I'm not confident doing it myself yet nor do I have any tools to do it myself

First thing I'd do would be clean and grease the threads on the bottom bracket cups. If creak still there then LBS.
