Was hoping yo clean my gutters but my neighbour told me I should not put a ladder on a flat roof in case I damage the felt.. And the imbalance of weight on to the flat roof etc It is the only way I can get access to gutter.. Should I risk it myself or get the professionals..

If you got some plywood, let's say 4ft x 4ft you could sit the ladder on this. I would suggest someone holding the ladder in case it or the plywood moves. I think this would work fine but I might be corrected by someone with a better knowledge of felt.

As pointed out definitely put down some ply wood or similar to spread the load out. There'd be no harm screwing / nailing some 2 x 2 timber to the ply so the ladder doesn't slip off the plywood.

As about but also be extra careful if the Ladder is leaning against metal Gutters as the tendency is to slide easily.
Keep your weight over the Rungs of the Ladder at all times. ( no reaching left or right ).

Also, if possible, borrow a ladder stand-off. Invaluable for gutter cleaning.
