Any VW specialist? Golf mk5 SAFE displayed

    Hi All,

I have an 08 Golf TDI which had a new key supplied and coded by a VW dealer. That was nearly 3 years ago at this stage. After the job, car displayed SAFE on the dash and also the setting button for MFD stopped working.
VW then said there was a fault with the car and they'll have to spend more time on the car and to book it in again, obviously at more cost. Anyways, the first owner let it lapse for a while due to work commitments and then afterwards VW gave him a major runaround and fobbed him off. Not their problem type of thing

Car was 100% before that, but there was only one key with it. No faults.

Anyways, I'm stuck with this car now.

Car starts fine, two keys all good, but SAFE is displayed on the dash and the mileage cannot be seen when the engine is running. ( this appears to be an IMMO fault). Also the menu button on the steering wheel is not working.( Highline MFD)
I had the car scanned with multiple diagnostics, including VAG and no faults are present in any of the modules.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks
