Driveshaft - Toyota

kind of in a pickle here. was attending to the ARB bushings on my corolla there last week and noticed the inner CV boot on the passenger side was torn and on further inspection is clicking on full lock

    aaaaannnnnyway...

not available anywhere spurious and toyota want to put me in an early grave with €400 for the inner joint alone or €700 for a complete shaft. it's looking like a second hand full shaft is the most likely option, even if it's not the most sensible.

rang a few dedicated toyota breakers, none of whom had one as it's seemingly a common fault and good ones don't stay for sale long.

does anyone know would one from a 1.6 corolla verso model would be the same? or maybe a shaft from an e11 model or something. really just looking for options aside from the €400 toyota one.

edit: while we're at it. it's leaking water into the boot. i have pinpointed the problem but i can't fix it, i'm really getting irritated by this and google doesn't seem to have any useful results, so i'm just wondering has anybody elses ever heard of an e12 hatchback boot leak water into the spare wheel well?

the water crosses over the rubber at "A", runs in the groove in the rubber along to the latch striker plate "B" and builds up there and overflows down into the wheel well. very annoying. i've tried cleaning and adjusting the seal numerous ways but nothing seems to work. the car is straight at the back, never been damaged etc and the seal is seated nicely along the body.

ideas anyone? don't want to have to drill holes or use silicone. would like to do a proper job. but again i don't fancy throwing €150 at the problem by buying a new seal to find out that it doesn't make any difference.
