    I am approaching the end of my six month probation period, my contract states one month notice for leaving.

    Can I leave after the 6 months without notice? or would my contract be for a year with 6 month probation period?

    Your contract says 1 months notice... that means... give 1 months notice.

    Either do or don't, they may or may notgive you a reference.

    You need to give one months notice after the 6 months probation is finished.

    Note your contract will state your notice period during your probation. It'll probably be something like no notice required. If that's the case, you can leave quickly before your probation is up.

    It's best to give a months notice though. You never know when you'll need these guys for a reference.
