That's what your travel insurance is for. Make a claim against it. Give all the details of your flights and baggage claim reference.

i doubt anybody buys travel insurance or at least, only a small portion.

if companies like AL or Ryanair loses your bag, especially after charging for it, surely they should cover the loss, if they lose it?

You're covered under the Montreal convention, with or without travel insurance, had the same problem, with Air france, bag lost in CDG, after about 60 days, they paid out the compensation, about 1200 euro, unfortunatley if you have anything worth more in value that this in the bag it won't be paid out, unless you declare it when checking your bag in.

For as little as €30 for basic annual multi trip I don't know why anyone wouldn't?

Hi folks......my bag just disappeared.... Its getting on two days and cant get through to baggage ......

Have you called them direct or just a general number?

Why not post a query on their facebook page...answers within 30 mins in business hours.

Where did you come from? As there has been a problem with bags even getting to green planes in Heathrow over the last week or so. Bags are getting stuck in the airport and not actually being 'lost' by EI as they never got them.

Even lower for single trip. Took out a policy today for 23 Euro, covers family for 3 weeks. E30 muli trip is obviously better overall value.

I know, totally side swiped by the whole event. Its not making a jot being one side of the fence or another. I just cant believe it and pray it will turn up. Kicking myself i fired a few gadgets into it the bag being pure lazy and i should have known better and put the lot in my hand baggage. Lesson learned. Maybe karma has bitten me AndyG re recent times!! Thanks all re advise.....re insurance i have vhi travel insurance but it doesnt make a huge impact unless you have receipts for all articles claimed for, if not they offer a paltry amount per article claimed for.

Update......my bag has been found. Yippee.....stressful weekend. Close thread I suppose? Thanks for all your advice folks....

Glad you got it back...... my record is losing my bag 3 times in the same week, I literally picked it up from lost baggage after the 1st loss at 4pm, went flying at 5pm and promptly lost it again :):) Needless to say, i leave nothing in my checked in baggage that will upset me if lost!
