Hi i always seem to get acne in the same spots (deep cystic acne spots) on my face usually to the side of my mouth and below to jaw line where people have goatee hair if you understand me. Im beginning to think wet shaving is causing this and i am thinking of cghanging to an electric razor, i am just wondering has anybody experienced anyhting similar.

Could be a factor if you're not using a good, sharp razor. Changing heads/blades regularly is a must, as is using (imho) good quality aftershave balm and shaving cream.

Have you changed your razor or cream/gel recently to see if that might help?

Be sure you are not pushing out the skin with your tongue or using air pressure in an attempt to get a closer shave.

Also, it is very important that you don't shave against the grain.

Having said that, a friend had this recurring problem too (under his lower lip). His eventual solution was to grow a soul patch.

You could try a good electric razor. Even with this, though, do not try as I said above to shave closer.

As the above poster said, it could be down to your razor choice. I recommend you try Azor King of Shaves. Their design gives a great 'angle of attack'. I don't think I have ever nicked myself using one.

I think a good alcohol-based after shave would be a good idea.

I used to have the very same problem. Didn't matter what blade I used or if it was a wet or dry shave. In the end I switched to an electric shaver and have had no problems since. The only thing with an electric shaver is that you don't get a close shave as you would with a razor.

Yeah I hope this is my problem too. I will use electric razor tonight and see. I tried changing my diet various shaving creams and blades so I would be delighted if electric razor solves my problem. Its good to know somebody had similar problem.

Maybe try a cheap electric razor first and see if it helps. I have a braun series 7 and I paid a good bit for it. Would highly recommend it if you are looking to invest in something decent.
