Whether or not to wean store lambs?.

Am probably not going to be bringing first of ram lambs to mart till around a fortnights time, strongest lambs would be up on 40 kg but only forward stores, weight range down to around 30 kg then for lightest lambs, lambed mid March on.Usually sell first lambs straight off ewes and wean them then at end of July. With the good grass year happen to have around 8 acres of good fresh grass that would be perfect for weaned lambs.Dosed all lambs secondly for worms and gave them mineral dose in last few days.
They have good picking yet where they are with their mums, but am tempted to wean the lambs that would be selling in a fortnight and put them on the fresh grass, know they would prob fail for first week off ewes but should make up for it in second week esp with benefit of doses they just got.Surely ewes aren't giving them much milk at this stage.
What ye reckon is it worth considering weaning them for the hoped benefit of the fresh grass?

Wean away, if mums are out of sight and they can't hear them they won't get much of a set back at all. They'll probably be heavier in two weeks than if you leave them on the ewes
Has to be done some time

Am thinking that myself, just a bit apprehensive of it as have never weaned lambs this early but its s good grass year and might as well make use of it.Tge out of sight out of mind aspect might be a bit tricky as ewes would be about three fields away and prob still in bleating distance but from weaning over the years things usually settle on second day.
