Was just down in the Dunnes Beacon Sandyford and they are selling World Cup themed 250ml bottles of coke for 1 cent. They were originally free when you bought 2x2 litre bottles but the promotion is now over so ringing in at the till for 1 cent.

Was in Dunne's Carlow a little bit ago and couldn't find any of this.

Probably store specific on what's left.

Lets all go out and buy 1 cent coke for our kids, and they will thank us years later why they eat krap food, fizzy drinks and are now obese.

So your telling me if a kid get's a bottle of cork they will eat "krap food, fizzy drinks" and become obese.

    Interesting logic

Back on Topic: Pretty cool the way it'd be a limited edition bottle, they usually would charge an arm and a leg for that?

They hadn't even heard of this offer in my local Dunnes.

    Its not an 'offer'.
Its a neglible price they put into the system for the Brazillian Coca-cola bottles for the world cup that they were giving away when you bought 2 2l bottles. They were not supposed to be sold separately- the promotion was that you got one when you bought the larger bottles.

Its not an 'offer' its how Dunnes setup the give-away in their POS.

I used the word offer just to simplify things, they told me that the reduction had to come from Coca Cola and the store would apply it.The bottles were given a negligible value but the store "wasn't allowed" to sell them at said price.

Yeah, because coke is as addictive as crack cocaine.

Just to clarify isn't this the empty 250ml glass bottle commemorating the world cup.

Its a 250ml aluminium bottle, with coke in it.
Its not glass- and it does have coke in it.......

They have them in Dunnes Kilnamanagh. But they were turning people (kids) away who were trying to purchase them on the self service for some reason

I may have a look tomorrow and see if they've any.

    Of course they were.......
Bet they didn't have 2*2l bottles for each of the world cup bottles they were trying to 'buy'.......
You make it sound like they were trying to be mean to the kids who were trying to score free coke........

Because hypocrisy is rife on boards.

Same poster has no problem chowing down on BK cr$p and posting on fast food BAs but criticizes soft drink bargain alerts

To the OP thanks for the alert but none left in Galway sadly.
