    Hello all,
Does anyone have any experience with super beefy car covers? I got a sample of one which was supposed to be super heavy duty and its as thin as a shopping bag. I was thinking about something hefty enough that you might accidentally drop a hammer on it and it would be OK! Spark proof would also be great. The idea is to protect the car while I'm doing work in the garage.

    Thanks,
    Paul.

Get yourself a few lengths of 2x4 and some sheets of plywood and make a box for your car!! Be cheaper than any decent cover

And way more resistant to dropping a hammer on :)

I like that idea. I could make a kind-of open-ended box. The car is right infront of the up and over door. So, if I need to get to it, I can just open the garage door and slide the box out as far as required!

Now you're getting the idea ....

Get some 4x6 and you could add shelves, benches .........

most covers are crap.i got a coupke for my transits and I think they were 80(whatever it is they measure them in) and they rip so easy even with the "reinforced"edge.

Add a set of sturdy castor wheels, and you can roll the box away off the car.

Old duvets, blankets, curtains etc. , any heavy fabric can be used under a car cover to give extra protection. Just lay them on the car and put the cover over.
