8x56 on a .223

    Lads has anyone ever used a 8x56 scope on a .223
    I'm thinking about getting one for a tikka t3 lite in .223
    This will be used for shooting Foxs under lamp and the odd early dawn fox

    I used one on my .17Rem for foxing and my mate used one on his .223, again solely for foxing.

    I've taken rabbits at 250 yards (verified by rangefinder) during the day with mine, no problem at all. The 56 bell picks up so much light it's unreal. Also without the zoom, it looks very simple mounted on a rifle.

    Perfect scope for a point and shoot rifle!

    I think that would be a great set up for lamping. Hard to think of a better scope for the job the a fixed power S&B or the like that size.

    well at least there will be nothing extra to fiddle around with like magnification or parralax it,s just up with the gun and BANG !

    Just bought a S&B 8 56 for my .223 & was out last night after the red fellas, I simply could not believe the light that is gathered through it, you are deffo making the right decision :)
