BMW 1.9 petrol engine

    I am after BMW 1.9 petrol engine, for '99 E46 , and when i was inquiring about them is some places, i was asked about what kind intake manifold is, i am after that engine with plastic intake manifold, they said that they dont have , as usually those engines comes with metal intake manifold, and they ar not compatible ...

    ok, i am not really familiar with BMW engines, maybe somebody could highlight on these engines ?

    really couldn't find differences even through google.

    Yea the older M43 engine (usually from the E36) had a die-cast intake manifold. But any M43's i've seen in E46's have always been plastic in takes.

    any idea what price we are talking to get second hand engine. is that really they are incompatible ?? like sensor locations, inlet and exhaust manifold shape, flywheel ... etc..
