Mite problem in new build!

I moved into a newly built house last November and at the moment we seem to have a mite problem on most of our window sils. There are black mites running around and some white ones too. They seem to becoming out form the small cracks between the window frame and the plaster. I have used silicone to seal the gaps but the mites are still there. I have used milton to disinfect them too. A quick google search says they are damp mites but we have no damp in the house. I am worried that they can lead to asthma as I have a 2 year old son.
Has anyone come across this kind of problem and if so what did you too to sort it out.
    Thanks.

Mike was the house brand new when you moved in?

    Have you approached the builder/developer.

When we moved into a new place (in the UK) we had snagging visits at 3, 6 and 12 months.

Yeah we had this house built for us, brand new. I havent had a chance to speak to bulider about this as he is away at the moment but I will.

Solargain is there a way to get rid of these little feckers. A spray or anything, getting fairly sick of looking at them and worrying about my childs health. Any suggestions is most welcome.

    Thanks for replies.

There's a powder for ants gotten in any diy store
A sprinkle should do the job
