Estee Lauder Double Wear new formulation

It's taken me a while to cop on to this but has anyone noticed the formulation of this product has changed in the last year or so? I've been noticing it doesn't last well on my skin anymore. A bit of googling confirms others think the same. I'm so disappointed as I'm super oily and super pale and this is the only thing that would last on my skin and not separate and go patchy throughout the day. Now it's shiny by 11am and is half off my face by the end of the day!

Anyone else notice this or have any success with foundations that will control oil? I've tried Make up forever HD (disappears from my skin), Chanel perfection lumiere (no staying power for me) and Revlon colourstay (closest I've come but it does tend to separate on my face after a few hours)

I have tried MAC Studio Sculpt before and its worn well on my combination-oily skin.

I use No.7 Stay Perfect and have done for years, it lasts well, but it does get shiny after about 4-5 hours though, so you might need to re-powder.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is another one that lasted but it slide on my skin, especially around my mouth, any time I smiled I had those 'lines' where the foundation had moved.

The Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation is meant to be amazing, although I have never tried it, I've never heard anything bad about it, so it might be worth a try.

I have tried the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and I think it's more suited to dry skin as it's quiet moisturising (I have very dry skin). The one complaint I gave about this foundation is the color seems to be very ashy or something. But that might just be my skin color, I am very fair.

I find this make-up is the only foundation that makes my skin look all dewy, all day long, but I think that's also down to moisturising beforehand.

I do remember when I first bought this makeup, it didn't matter if you moisturised or not-it would still glide on, but in the last year or two I notice I HAVE to moisturise for it to glide on nicely.

Funny you should mention it, I actually thought it was something to do with my skin changing and not being as oily anymore! Fussy onion you're completely right I have to moisturize now before I put it on as well.

I know people will say "You should always moisturise before applying makeup" but it didn't matter before with Estee Lauder; if you forgot or hadn't got time, the makeup would still go on lovely.

Now it's almost a necessity to moisturise.

I recommend Johnson's 24-Hour Daily Essentials moisturiser (pink and white box). It's a really good base for this makeup and looking at Johnsons' website, they actually do say it's a good base for foundation.

Wouldn't dream of putting DoubleWear on now without moisturiser.
Tried it once and it sunk into every dent/wrinkle and mark on my face and also looked patchy.

I recently got a sample of doublewear and agree - it is different.
I highly recommend Vichy Dermablend - my skin is ridiculously oily but the makeup lasts all day (well by the end of the day it starts sliding, but any other foundation wouldnt last as long)
I use their cream foundation and a setting powder. Boots always have it on 3 for 2. I always get compliments on the coverage.

YES! I was thinking it was just me too, I have been getting this foundation for nearly 6/7 years now , and it was always perfect but in the last two years it doesn't last as long as it used! I remember before, (back in the days!) I was out the night before, came home didn't take off my make up and my friends complimented me the next morning on my perfect face and how I looked so fresh when I came down for breakfast - it didn't budge at all!!! Why change a good thing! :(
