Claiming job-seekers while living with friends!!

my friend lost her job the end of May and therefore moved into my place the last few weeks while she is job hunting. She tried to sign on welfare and had an appointment last week.

She changed her bank of Ireland account to my address and got a bank statement sent out which I thought would do for proof of address, however they gave her a form to get signed by the landlord. However I don't think my landlord will be prepared to sign it as she is not paying rent or on the lease doesn't know her at all, plus not even sure if he is registered with prtb..

If she is completely honest and says she is staying with friends while job hunting will she be entitled to receive job-seekers? or do you need to be in your own accommodation.

    Thanks a lot.

If she's applying for unemployment benefit, then it doesn't matter.
If she's applying for unemployment assistance, and isn't on the lease, she'd probably be counted as your dependant, so your income would be taken into account as part of the means test.
