    Hi can anyone tell me of the two pillars between the front and back door on a 2002 passat can be taken off and a new set put on or would I be better to try restore the rusted ones on it ??

    Ah that kind of thing. Remove the black piece, sand away any loose rust, use a rust remedy and get new black pieces.
