So thinking of giving in and changing from my DC2 , looking for something thats quick enough and not too troublesome , thinking along the lines of honda, nissan or toyota ( all my jap cars have given near or none trouble in the past )

has anyone any recommendations ? Cant be anything too over the top either as im only 24 , 7 years NCB so insurance would be a factor

    cheers :D

    Megane R26.

Read all the reviews, excellent car for the money and more reliable than you would think.
I own a 2008 and have owned a few performance cars over the years and will say that they are an excellent all round hot hatch.
Might have to go to the UK to buy one though.

An s3 wouldn't be much different to me dc2 haha was thinking the lines of a BMW m3, s14 or skyline etc

Big difference between an M3 and an S14, don't think you'd get an e46 or newer M3 worth owning for under 10k.

The S3 would be more comfortable and you could hear yourself think lol (joke)

ok you have a large choice

    DC5 Integra
    S15 Sylvia
    S14a
    RX7 or RX8
    Impreza
    Evo
    S2000

plenty of others out there too.

When I seem the thread title I came into it to recommend a dc2:L

Upgrading from one with your budget I'd be thinking e36 m3, Evo or a well sorted skyline/s14. None of them will give the reliability of the dc2 though. There's no performance car built that can take the abuse them things can.

Fantastic cars but very very dated, tired and old looking.

I'd go for an S2K if you don't plan on using it as an everyday car. If it's your only car then I'd go for a B4 Legacy.

Seconding Mazda RX8. Reliable if you pay attention to it. Tax and insurance are cheap for what it does. Reasonably practical for day to day use too. Have to take time to find a good one though- quite a few are shagged by morons.

That said, owning one has made me stupidly car-proud, so the is that downside.
