    Nicknamed “Robert” by hospital staff, he was found in a public park in Peterborough [Cambridgeshire, UK] at 6am on 18 May but is unable to recall his real name, age or history.

    Speaks with an East European accent and apparently understands some Lithuanian and Russian. No wallet, phone or docs.

    It's a long shot, but maybe somebody on here might know who this guy is. Pic in the article.

    During the Irish Civil War, Briscoe was involved in an incident with fellow anti-treaty IRA members who attacked pro-treaty politician Darrell Figgis at his home. The assault resulted in Figgis losing some of his beard.

    Fair point, but access to the website isn't limited to Ireland. A lot of people from England and within England use boards.

    If you've never met anyone outside your immediate family, then you may have a point.

    However, lots of Eastern Europeans live in Ireland, lots of Irish people travel to England and Eastern Europe, and Robert may well have lived in or been to Ireland - and I did say it was a long shot.

    Haven't all similar 'Amnesia' cases here and in the UK turned out to be scam artists or mentally unwell people. I think the only 'real' cases of amnesia belong to the media.

    No, she wasn't. She was seriously disturbed and needed our help. That would apply in any civilised country where she was found in that state.

    Eh, ok, thats why she was convicted for deception and fraud in Australia, had over 40 aliases, was working in Ireland under a false identity and
    has been involved in similar circumstances to the one in Dublin when she was found wandering the streets

    What did she stand to gain? Well she was over under a false identity so perhaps she didn't want to be deported? Some people also get their kicks from the attention. I have no idea but she was assessed an found to not be mentally ill. Perhaps you should ask her why she cost the state €200,000?
