Returning item after 30 days (Amazon)

    I bought two items less than 2 years ago (just about) via Amazon and both have developed faults by their own accord. Would ideally like a refund/replacement but not sure if I'm entitled to either? Amazon have a 30 day return window and there doesn't seem to be any option to file a claim after this period. I thought I remembered hearing that all items sold within the EU should be covered for 2 years? Would this come into play here?

    Any feedback appreciated

    If its covered by amazon warranty you can but its is highly unlikely they give for 2 years...check with manufacturer if there is any warranty...

    No obvious information on the Amazon website, what type of items are they, electrical?

    You should just get in touch and ask them, their customer support is quite helpful.

    Failing that you could try the European Consumer Centre Ireland http://www.eccireland.ie/

    Thanks folks, yeah I think I'll just pop them a mail, it was too late when I posted last night so was seeing if anyone had experience. One of the two items is electronic.

    So Amazon said they cover electronic items for 1 year but for non electronic items, you need to go to the manufacturer after 30 days. I've just sent an email off to both manufacturer anyway so we'll see what happens.

    Just to update on this, I got a replacement from Western Digital of a LIVE TV box unit. I had to pay for the shipping but it was only €10 or so. Never heard back from the non electronic company :(

    While I was at it, I decided to find out about a defective dash cam I ordered from Amazon (fulfilled by) in January. This is how the chat went:

    However, please understand the item you have purchased is sold by the seller ' EPRANCE ' but Fulfilled by: Amazon . In this case, we are able to receive the item back at us for your refund.
    If you have purchased it directly from the seller you will have to contact them directly to make arrangements for returns.
    Me:Does this apply to all orders, or only orders fulfilled by Amazon? So as long as it says either "dispatched and sold by" or "fulfilled by" amazon, I'm safe within a year?
