Called in with the organisers to drop off chips and they have an increased number of entries already for this unique 6k run in lovely surroundings in Kilmainham for a good cause.

Entries are open online until Monday and will close if they reach their limit.

We have timed it for several years and it attracts a wide range of runners from Sean Hehir winner for the past 3 years to Catriona McKiernan who was second last year.

Is it possible to walk to the start of this race from Hueston Station, i saw on google maps u can but im worried the entrance or gate to the Art Museum might be closed at that time and maybe there is another way in, i dont know the area so i would get lost and miss the start.

Gate to the museum is open that day and accessible. That's how I drive into the site for the timing.

    Is there a baggage area?

There was a baggage area last year - inside in the main museum building.

I thought the entry stayed open till late tonight and missed out, i'll have to pay when i get there, though its a bit steep for a 6k and it will probaly be the usual they wont have any t shirts left cos im entering late or they wil only have XL. Is it a good run? Worth doing?

As far as I remember the t-shirts are given out on a first come first served basis, so if you get there early you should get the size you want. As for the price, its "a bit steep" as its a charity race in aid of St. James' hospital - "all funds raised will go towards improving facilities for our patients’ families."

I've run it 3 years in a row and really enjoy the atmosphere and the course - it takes you around some interesting parts of the city. I'd say give it a go.

Plenty of tee shirts are available so get along early to be sure of your size.

Tbh in something short like 6k you'll run faster when the temps are decent.

I live and work in the Liberties and the temp is 20c right now- just about perfect....

Hopefully there will be some good support around too on this lovely evening!

Cracking good run, fair play to all involved. Big difference to running in the park! The "banter" with the locals was memorable to say the least.

Times available almost instantly afterwards and a txt message to boot. I will do it again next year for sure.

One slight niggle was the number of walkers, fancy dressers and OAPs on walking sticks (just 2!) in the first 200-300 people, it was a right pain getting around them, so the first 500m was challanging!

Really enjoyed last night as it was my first proper race for 3 months due to hamstring injuries. Still only on the way back but a really enjoyable event nonetheless.
I even finished ahead of Claralara...although she was finishing off a 16/18 mile run!

Fair play to ChampionChip too, results very quickly available!

Did this 2 years ago when it was a 6.4k. A great event. Sorry not to be able to do it this year.
