    Hi,

Were going to Benalmadena soon and was wondering has anybody here done a day trip to Gibraltar?

How do you go about it and was it worth the visit?

Anything else interesting to do in Benalmadena?

    Thanks

It's about 1hr30mins of a drive, we drove down from Estapona for a day trip, it was worth doing it ok.

Park on the Spanish side & walk over, it's quicker as the que for getting a car over is mad

Good deals on duty free booze & cigs but be careful with going over the limit, the customs guys are on the ball & will take them off or charge you the extra tax you

Loads of guys around offering trips up the Rock, they will probably approach you, you can haggle a bit, we took one, can't remember the cost but was worth it, walking the Rock, is too hard, you will get to see more with them, they encourage the apes over for photographs with M&M's LOL

Just to add, we had a rental car, don't know anything about the area where your staying but I imagine the local tourist office will point you in the right direction

All the travel agents have a selection of day trips for tourists.

local bus companies run that route from every major town in the marbellla/malaga region https://www.avanzabus.com/web/archivos/base/File/Horarios/Portillo/Horario-de-autobuses-de-La-Linea.pdf

when you get to la linea you have to walk across the border showing your passport.

for me a trip to the rock in gibraltar is worth it for the apes alone.
