Need an estate due to extra humans . 2010 or 2011 reg. Petrol or Diesel.
Used for mainly town driving and averaging 12000 miles per year. Reliability is top on my list at the moment . I have been looking at the following cars .....

    Toyota avensis tourer 2.0 diesel

    Skoda superb 1.6 greenline diesel

    Honda FRV (2008/2009) 1.8 petrol

    Toyota verso petrol and diesel

Does my mileage warrant diesel ? I have about 15 grand to play with. This will be a car for my wife and kids so something that will last for a good few years without any headaches.

    Thanks

It's the driving style rather than annual mileage that you have to warrant for a diesel imo. Modern diesel cars fitted with a DPF hate city driving. All those constant stop/start short trips mean the diesel engine cannot get up to optimized temperature for the DPF to do it's job properly which will eventually result in it getting blocked.

Imo you would be better off looking at a petrol or hybrid but your choices will be fairly limited in estates or MPVs.

Maybe a Qashqai +2 fits the bill:
