10Km swims

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help me?

I really want to do a 10km swim this summer. However the only events I can find is Lough Dan 23rd of August and Camlough 24th. This is the only weekend that I can't do.

I know there is one in Lough Gill later in August but as far as I know you are required to raise 250euro.

Anyone know of any other events this summer?

I think the Wicklow 10km has been postponed for this year, replaced with a 6km 'Petrified Forest' swim in Bray (details of which are currently sketchy at best).

Camlough & lough gill are the only two I could find, Frances Thornton swim is 13k (Galway in 2 weeks time).

Thanks guys. 2 weeks is a little bit too soon.

October may be a little chilly for a non-wetsuit swimmer!

I may look further a field or wait till next year.

Actually - while it's not 10km, just seen this pop up on Twitter http://www.wexmseaswim.com/registration.php a 4km swim in Wex...

Would you travel? There's a 10km swim at Dorney Lake (30-ish miles outside London) on 21 September. Open water in the south-east generally around 16c at that time of year.

6k Swim tomorrow in Sligo ... Warrior of the Sea .. might be a bit late to try to get in now!
