I don't know where the list of companies who use the Jobbridge Scheme has gone to, but here is one that is just wrong.

    Sherry Fitzgeralds
    P.Burke
    Goff St
    Roscommon

One full time employee, one full time employee reduced to three days a week. Then up pops a Jobbridge participant who works full time.

    Disgusting.

It's almost comical at this stage.

The lack of action by the organisers of Job Bridge can only be interpreted as encouragement of this sort of thing.

My nephew was working six hours per week with a local transport company. Just cleaning around the yard, etc. It was a few quid in his pocket while he was doing his Leaving Certificate. The company let him go. They said that because it was only six hours per week they could divide out the work amongst the existing staff and save the money. That's fair enough. But the next week they were on Jobbridge looking for a 'General Operative'. 38 hours per week. Unbelievable.

Actually, it's not unbelievable. Not even a little bit. The only surprising thing is that I was surprised.

If the hiring company had to pay €100 to bring it up to minimum wage their would be far less unemployment and more money pumped back into the economy.

A struggling company get's an employee for a third of what they would normally pay.

A person get's a fair wage for working and will boost the economy.

Company's hiring free labor for the sake of it will be filtered out and actual proper jobs will be advertised.

People will actually want to go on jobsbridge for minimum wage and instead of 20,000 jobsbridge vacancies their will be thousands getting minimum wage and the exploiters will stop hiring.

Seems straightforward to me but not to the goverment who support free labor and immigration, meaning young people today have no job opportunities.

If it's a large company then they can hire a number of 'interns'. So perhaps there's people coming and going and it makes sense for them to leave the offer open. However, if it's a small company, with only one intern, then I'd be asking myself why they're advertising for that position so often. It could be that they're treating their interns like crap and that people are quitting. Be careful.

Yes, but it disappeared yesterday while they removed something they didn't like. I didn't know that it was only a temporary closure for censorship purposes.

Why would you pay someone when you can get people to work for free? If your competitors are using jobbridge staff and you are paying staff for the same work, you are not being competitive. You'll have to charge more for your services to cover the extra wage costs.
This is government policy. Don't blame the employers, blame the government who have ridiculously high payroll taxes and encourage the use of jobbridge to drive down salaries.
