Hi, first time posting to the forum but I've always been keen on aviation. My gf just got me a beginners pack of 3 flying lessons that I can arrange to suit me. I'm in New Zealand just wondering do people think I should wait till the summer before I book them? Bit of a wait but maybe best for a beginner?

Make sure you check the expiry date if there is any. If your ready to go, just go for it you will have a great experience. The weather is flyable all year round but you will get days where its a no go, no need to worry about weather your instructor is there to guide and help you.

    greetings

i learnt to fly in the winter in new zealand , i dont see any point in waiting , i was working full time in hamilton , i flew at flywaikato, great club, a lot lot cheaper than learning in ireland , and used my weekends to get a nz ppl over 6 months took about 60 hours . i used the winter nights to go to ppl night classes , and meet people. it is a good experiance to deal with crappy weather making the decision to fly or not, but it will take longer . i got to fly around the north island and over auckland through a transit zone , out to the islands , all done off grass strips .

    cheers

You lucky sod, why wait? Sure can't she buy you more at Christmas?

Do check the expiry though, I've never had a lesson but we bought one for the brother-in-law once and he let it expire, I was livid when I found out he never used it!

usually most schools are good to honour expired ones , they may ask you pay a small supplement for a price rise since voucher expired
