Hi, I had a Boru Fiachra insert installed 12 months ago in the main sitting room.... 18ft x 20ft but the heat output has been very disappointing . Has any else had a similar experience with the Boru Fiachra insert or what can be done to improve it ?
I appreciate any feedback in advance .

    It seems to be undersized,
    20 x 18 is a large room
They are 7kw maximum output so it depends on what you are burning

As they are rated at 7kw it should heat your room easily.
What way is it fitted/connected to chimney/Flexiliner?
    What fuel are you using?
When was the chimney last cleaned ?
Have you checked the baffles are in the right position?
Those are a few things that can cause problems.

    It is connected to flexiliner,
Fuel is timber, coal , sticks, briquettes.
Chimney has only been used 10 times
    No idea about the baffles.

Have my one also 12 months. Similar size room and it heats it no problem even with turf. When I burn nuggets the room gets too hot. I would get the installer to look at it again.

Have had ours 3 years now, there is a large heat output out of them so something is wrong with yours. The only thing is we have had to change the blocks on some due to them breaking altogether.

We burn timber and a few briquettes
