What is the minimum speed needed to stream TV into my home using a dreambox? I just had my eircom modem delivered and its averaging 0.4-0.6mbs when I was told by eircom when ordering that it would be over 2mbs. I did stress to them what i needed and what I wanted it for, now they are playing dumb and saying they have no recollection af it.

You need min 2-3 mbs. Did you seriously tell them you're running a dreambox?

No I just said streaming tv and mentioned Netflix and e-vision from eircom, and they told me I'd get that speed at least if not more, now they tell me the line isn't good enough

No need for 2-3mbit, a Dreambox only uses a few bits per second, about 15MB per day. It needs low latency, not speed. The channel is still received by satellite

I am currently getting between 0.30mbs up to 0.85mbs, is this sufficent?

Are you trying to stream or get bits of data to your box. If its the latter you cannot discuss that here.

Yes as long as it's consistent and low latency

I am looking to stream TV and netflix. How do I check for low latency?

Netflix and real streaming is another story, needs 2mbit minimum, 5mbit for HD

I found a lot of break up at 2-3 mbs over wifi not so much since fibre.
As for Netflix can now steam 3d which could never do previously

Latency, it's best to avoid wireless, run a cable if possible. It uses just a few bits per second, you know mega means million, megabit is a million bits per second

Judging by your post in the other thread, need to clarify. A Dreambox is a satellite box. The XBMC Dreambox from Donedeal is not a satellite box.
