    Hi all,

I received a Chinese phone from Pandawill a few days ago. I was in the process of removing all the crapware from it last night and I have caused myself a problem.

The phone boots fine to the lock screen, but as soon as I unlock the screen the homescreen flashes every half second, and I cant interact with it.

Erased all app caches through the app setting, no luck.

Tried a factory reset, same issue.

    Removed the battery, same issue.

Tried to boot into the recovery, but the damn thing is in chinese so I cant get fastboot to erase the cache.

Does anybody have any ideas on how I can fix this silly problem, or will I just send it back and try to get a replacement?

I cant find a rom, or even a guide on how to flash a custom rom or recovery...

    Ken

    Hey Ken,

The exact same thing happened to mine. The way I got around it? I installed Nova Launcher ... works like a charm and is better than the launcher that came pre-installed. You'll obviously have to push the app from the Google Play store to the phone to start using it but once it's installed you should be grand.

    Mick, you are a genius!

For some reason I never thought that the home screen launcher could be replaced so easily.

    Working perfectly now!

It's actually not a bad phone at all for 55 euro!

Glad I could help! Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the money. The only fault I have is with the size of the internal storage. It's a pain in the ass having to move all the apps to phone storage every time there is one installed.
