I am filling in a job application form and it requires my entire work history, from when I left school. It requires the information down to the exact date. No I have no notion of when I left that part time job in a chipper when I was 17 for that waitress job etc. Is it ok to give dates that may not be the exact dates? Is there any way the employer (or if I can) find out these dates?

    TIA

I make them up. I'd always put in that I start a job on the 15th of the month and end a job on the 14th of the end month. Never had an issue. I could be wrong, but I think they are just looking for a rough idea.

I have come across systems that won't allow even a couple of days unaccounted for and you need fill in with "Unemployed" or similar.
