I kept the meadow up in mid May. With the recent rain it has gone down. The meadow is not fully grown.

Will it keep growing while it is on the ground.

Don't worry. It will stand again and continue growing.

Why do lads call silage meadows?
A meadow to me a a field that hasn't been grazed and is all shot out and us only fit to make hay.
Not getting at OP just a pet hate of mine

I get the impression that that is what the op means. If it was growing in May it's well headed out now. Op why didn't you save it during the fine weather?

So what would you call a field specifically let out for silage? :)

My own pet hate! So often do you see rows of cut grass called swarts or swarths, there's even machines advertised as 'swart wilters'. There's no real such word as 'swart', the correct description is either 'swath' (row of cut grass) or 'sward' meaning pasture. Think 'swart' is a mangling of the two.
