Trigger Keys live?

    Hello,

    Cover band with no keys wants to use keys now and then and Im looking for any experience/opinions about this.

    I need a rock solid solution to triggering say, a piano part for a song via a foot switch on floor. Im thinking a midi floor controller rigged to a hardware MPC type sampler.

    It has to be as reliable and as simple as possible, no laptops involved!

    It would really help expand the repertoire without reducing the wages!

    Any experience with this type of set up out there?
