Moral high horses on boards and in real world

Have any of you ever taken the moral high ground on boards in a way that you wouldn't in everyday situations. Just wondering are these people I see every day on boards (example in motors forum, owners transferring ownership of a car to avoid back taxes being accused of bankrupting the state or a driver caught without a seatbelt/nct/light busted being compared to a mass murderer). I am sure it happens in other forums that I dont read, there are certainly many examples in AH too. What are your best examples of high horsery and have you ever indulged yourself (or has anyone taken up against you)

I know lots of people who do this when it comes to relationship advice. They'll make a point that might be factually correct and it's really easy to argue that they are correct *on the internet*. But in real life, they'd be a million times more likely to compromise.

Don't forget smugness and just the right amount of moral righteousness.

Don't use this forum to get a dig in at other forums.
