Hi...can I get some advice please? I have a Sony Xperia and an LG big TV.
If I had a movie app (just saying if...) and I wanted to watch the movie on the LG, do I need an app to run it? I tried connecting the phone to the HDMI on the side of the LG, and then various input options on the TV, but 'no signal' comes up and the phone freaks out a bit and makes weird beeping noises. All advice appreciated.

Easiest thing to do would be to pick up a Chromecast from Argos and stream it via WiFi. Fantastic device.

Personally, I find either All Cast (not free, but cheap) or Bubble UPnP (free is generally OK) better, but try them all, there are lots.

Is your LG a Smart TV?? If so, you won't need a chromecast. Just set-up the Ethernet or WiFi connection.

I have one, if you need help, I have it all done (mostly) already, it's the LG 42LN 575V.

Of course, you will need that App.......

I could show you, but I'd get a box from the mods....

    google is your friend then.

Just saw your reply, thanks. Yes, it's a Smart TV...if I download the app you suggested, how do I set up the Wifi connection between the TV and the Android phone? (Told you I was stupid)
