    Hi all,

Self thought front crawl - can do multiple lengths pretty easily. Want to improve speed / efficiency and coaching isn't really an option. Could anyone recommend some good books?

Swim smooth is good however TBH difficult to be fully self aware of all your actions when swimming. If you join a club there may be coaching on offer or someone can give you advise as you go

Swimming Fastest by Maglischo is probably the best one I've read.

It fully explains everything about swimming all 4 competitive strokes, but its not for the faint hearted, and implementing the knowledge gained from it is easier from a coaches point of view than a swimmers.

Its impossible to beat having a skilled knowledgeable observer.

    I'd recommend finding a club.
