I have picked up a secondhand bogballe dz trend 1.5t last week. Delighted with it. Happy with the deal etc...

However I don't know the correct settings for spread rates and also don't know the spread width.

The bogballe website fertilizer spread chart obviously points it out but I have no clue how to interpret it.

Is it true that rpm changes spread width. It has e1 stamped on the vanes.

I spread yesterday and reckon I was reasonably accurate but I want it to be pretty much spot on.

    Appreciate any help!

You need to be spreading at 540rpm at the PTO firstly. Any slower and it will not be spread far enough and any faster and it will spread too far.

You will need to know the different speeds your tractor does in different gears so you can adjust the rate on the spreader to the faster and slower speeds.

Next you need to find the correct height that the discs need to be off the ground for the width of the spread. The height is 73-75 cm off the ground according to the manual below Any higher and the fertiliser. will be spread too far and any lower and it won't be spread far enough. Also make sure the spreader is level for the same reasons.

Have a look at the page above or better still print it out and put it in order. Page 14 has a quick calibration check and the rest of the manual gives a good summary of what you need to know.

Just found the manual for the trend:o

Have you got a smart phone? If you do bogballe have an app that has all calibrations..
If you don't know so read with give previous owner a buzz and he will know

I find that when you are searching for the spread chart number on their site by fert type I can not find the irish brands.
Much easier if you know the chart number.
We got paper charts and at the front the is a list of the charts for ireland.
So I just pump the chart number into their site.
Sorry I can't put my hand on it now for you.

if you bought it off a dealer you could get a calibration kit from them
