    No
Don't quote me but I was informed that as a one man band, its not required as I know what to do without having to infirm myself in writing.
    Advice c/o Arachas insurance
    Bit vague I know.

I'm also sure you'll get different opinions.
I for one would like to be better advised if others have opinions.

Advice given here is second to none.

Yes I have one, AFAIK Scudo is correct, sole traders do not require one.

I have had instances a few years back where particular insurance agents asked for it, and originally with the BG RGI scheme you had to have one and H&S regarding CO etc.

From the HSA website at http://www.hsa.ie/eng/Small_Business/Safety_Statements_Made_Simple/ (and I know it contradicts scudo's advice earlier...)
All employers including the self-employed must have a safety statement relating to their workplace and work activities.

So I'd think you should have one. The HSA's BE SMART programme for small businesses might be of some use? I don't know if they'll have a template for your line of work but they might - have a look at http://www.hsa.ie/eng/Topics/BeSMART/

    HTH.

HSA's website besmart.ie Avent got an option for heating technician, plumber etc at the moment but it's in the pipeline to add in the next 3 years!

Are you a self employed employer if you only employ yourself?

I think if you are a LTD. Co. and you take you income from the company as an employed director, then yes. If you are just a sole trader, then no.
