    Hi,

I am looking to go away in November for 3 nights for my partner's 30th. I know he would like to go somewhere along the West/North-West coast, somewhere where we can go to a pub and sit down for a few drinks in the night time but during the day head off for some activities. I Wouldn't mind a hotel or cottage, once it's relaxing and if at all possible a bit unique. I would have to budget the whole lot in for €500. There just seems to be so much on offer when I google that I don't know where to start.

Www.gostrandhill.com you could look at Sligo and strand hill. However at that time of year anywhere in Ireland could have bad weather. In sligo town The glasshouse hotel or clarion hotel might be good also. The glass house is in town and the clarion is on the outskirts but has a pool and leisure centre as has the sligo park hotel.

I would not recommend the Clarion. It has zero atmosphere and wouldn't feel remotely special IMO

Westport or Achill would suit IMO.

I know you said north/northwest, but bargain alerts has a hot deal out of belfast to iceland, and its seriously cheap. Maybe worth a look?

I think the radisson in balincar / rosses point might have a nice leisure centre.

The clarion might be a bit big and impersonal as athtrasna says and some evenings they don't open the restrurant and it is food at the bar.
